PortalCERT
products are based upon a performance model, and its standards
are developed specifically for web businesses. PortalCERT
provides software-based assessment tools that are web-resident
and automates the self-paced assessment procedure. This assessment
process is the key to PortalCERT’s certification for
client web businesses, as well as for providing consulting
services to achieve the certification mark at various levels.
PortalCERT will provide four levels of performance certification
to its client web businesses. Consulting services are available
from PortalCERT’s staff of industry experts, or through
relationship with a credible consulting company within each
certification level.
The
bronze certification level is the entry-level certification
that is founded on a compact model based upon the PortalCERT
web business performance model.
This compact model retains the key criteria, including both
the “click” and “brick” attributes,
and it is intended for assessment of small as well as start-up
web businesses.
The
silver certification level is based upon the complete and
comprehensive
PortalCERT web business performance model. The process used
for the bronze certification level is employed for initial
issuance and semi-annual re-certification for a silver certification
mark. This level is also based upon remote verification of
the assessment results by a third-party registrar.
This certification level applies to web businesses in medium
to large categories. This includes manufacturing businesses
(B2B), retail businesses (B2C), as well as service businesses.
This certification level builds upon
the silver level by employing an on-site
verification process for validation of the assessment questionnaire
results by a
third-party registrar such as PortalCERT. As in the silver
certification level, initial issuance as well as semi-annual
re-certification is available for the gold level.
This
certification level builds upon the gold level by including
best practices criteria and thereby awarding “Best In
Class” certification when such criteria are met. The
best practices categories are defined within the PortalCERT
performance model. As in the gold certification level, initial
issuance as well as semi-annual re-certification is available
for the platinum level.
CONSULTING SERVICES
For
silver through platinum level certifications, a comprehensive
range of fee-based consultation is available. The consultation
will assist client web businesses in interpreting the performance
model criteria as applicable to their businesses. The consultation
will also: identify gaps in meeting certification level requirements,
provide guidance in streamlining and improving business processes
and their measurement, and assist in preparing for and assessing
best business practices for “Best-In-Class” certification.
