What is PortalCERT?
Web businesses contain business elements and criteria that are significantly different from the business performance models and success metrics that have been developed for conventional brick-and-mortar businesses. There is a lack of business performance assessment models that are based upon credible experience. The PortalCERT certification, and its seal, will encourage partnerships among web businesses, and facilitate bringing new products and services to a variety of markets.

At PortalCERT our mission is to create shareholder value by creating and popularizing a business performance certification, and a performance mark, designed specifically for web businesses. This mark of performance will signify levels achievement on the part of web businesses to streamline their business
processes against criteria aimed to increase their credibility and profitability. Having our mark of performance certification will enhance a web business’s rating as a performance supplier to its customers.

PortalCert is designed to build customer confidence in e-Businesses. How does PortalCERT work?
Whether you have a start-up or an existing e-Business, you can benefit by implementing processes and improving operational performance using the PortalCert criteria. You let PortalCert staff know via email that you are interested in obtaining PortalCert. Someone at PortalCert will contact you, have you sign a contract, and send you an informational package. This will include criteria, supporting information and a contact number for any help that you may need. Once you have achieved the benefits of using PortalCert
criteria, one of our auditors will review your compliance and effectiveness against the PortalCert criteria and determine your eligibility to receive PortalCert recognition. If there are some gaps, we will advise you of necessary corrective actions.

What does PortalCERT offer?
PortalCERT brings to the web business marketplace the most extensive and comprehensive web business performance assessment model.

PortalCERT offers four levels of certification. These four levels of certification will be targeted at start-ups and small businesses with third-party remote verification, medium- to large-sized businesses with third-party remote verification, all businesses with third-party on-site verification, and finally a certification level for all businesses focusing on best practice assessments. A semi-annual renewal of certificates will be offered.

PortalCERT’s partners offer consultation services to web businesses that seek to identify areas of improvement within their organizations and for implementing best business practices.

What is PortalCERT’s credibility?
PortalCert is backed up by world leaders in business process improvement, e-Business quality, software engineering, Six Sigma and quality techniques. PortalCert has a Standards Council that is headed by Dr. Jim Harrington.

There are other organizations that offer certifications. Those certifications are mainly for eCommerce, security and privacy. PortalCert offers the most comprehensive and e-Business-friendly certifications of its kind. Again, its credibility comes through its world-renowned team, partners and its comprehensive criteria.

Who Manages PortalCERT?
The PortalCERT management team is headed by Dr. Jim Harrington, Chairman. Our management team has a combined experience of more than 100 years in Information Technology, e-Business, Quality and Business Process Improvement. Supporting the management team, there is an Advisory Council and a Standards Council that has expert leaders from across many industries.
